The Oasis Project

The Oasis Project

Turning Vacant Land Into a Place of Possibility.

The Oasis Project is The Center’s neighborhood placemaking initiative transforming formerly vacant and underused land in Detroit into an active community environment.

Rather than treating vacant land as an empty space waiting for traditional development, The Center sees land as an opportunity for community.

Through art, nature, events, wellness, creativity, and resident participation, the Oasis is becoming a place where people can gather, build relationships, create memories, and imagine new possibilities for their neighborhood.

Community transformation isn’t something that happens to a neighborhood. It happens with the people who live there.
